HCPL Wins Bid for Hubballi Airport New Terminal

Harsh Constructions (HCPL) has successfully secured the coveted position as the lowest bidder (L1) for the civil construction of the new terminal building at Hubballi airport in Karnataka. This achievement comes with a significant Rs. 260.22 crore investment, emphasizing the company's competitiveness in the bidding process. The proposed terminal is designed to accommodate 2400 peak-hour passengers and will boast a substantial built-up area of 20,000 square meters. Additionally, the facility will be equipped with four aerobridges and an expanded apron capable of accommodating up to six narrow-body aircraft, such as the A320.

This major infrastructure development project received the stamp of approval from the Central government in June 2023, indicating its importance and alignment with broader strategic goals. The expansion is part of a larger initiative to enhance the capacity and capabilities of Hubballi airport, catering to the growing demand for air travel in the region. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) played a pivotal role in facilitating this project, overseeing the tendering process and setting a completion timeline of two years from the initiation of the construction phase.

With Harsh Constructions emerging as the lowest bidder, the company is now poised to play a crucial role in shaping the future of Hubballi airport. The successful bid not only reflects HCPL's financial competitiveness but also underscores its capability to deliver on the proposed infrastructure with efficiency and excellence. As the project progresses, it is expected to contribute significantly to the regional aviation landscape, providing enhanced facilities for passengers and fostering economic development in the surrounding areas.
