AAI Invites Bids for Varanasi Airport's Grand Transformation

Airports Authority of India (AAI) has released an invitation for bids for the comprehensive development of Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

The project encompasses various tasks, including design, engineering, procurement, construction, erection, installation, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, trial runs, completion, and maintenance during the defect liability period.

Package-I includes the construction of the passenger terminal building (PTB) excluding the basement area, eight aero-bridges (fixed fingers), utility buildings (service blocks) on ground and first floors, utility building basement (including sewage treatment plant and underground gas tanks), a skywalk (74m x 6m), car parking area and pavements, footpaths, associated infrastructure, landscaping works, and an elevated road.

The contract holds a value of Rs 995.08 crore, with a completion period of 36 months, inclusive of a 4.5-month provision for potential rain delays. The defect liability period (DLP) is set at 24 months after the actual completion date, followed by 60 months for AICMC (Annual Integrated Comprehensive Maintenance Contract) covering MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing), AS (Airport Systems), and IT (Information Technology) works.

Interested parties must submit their bids by 25 January 2024.
