Ayodhya Airport Receives Aerodrome License

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has granted an aerodrome license for the new Ayodhya airport, developed at a cost of approximately Rs 350 crore by the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

The Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport in Ayodhya features a terminal building spanning 6,500 sq. mtrs., capable of handling 600 passengers during peak hours and accommodating 10 lakh passengers annually.

The airport boasts a 2,200 mtrs.-long runway with comprehensive aeronautical ground lights (AGLs) infrastructure, supported by Doppler very-high frequency omni range (DVOR) and instrument landing system (ILS) to facilitate night flights.

Scheduled to inaugurate on December 30, 2023, commercial operations for direct flights, particularly between Delhi and Ayodhya, will commence from January 6, 2024.
