Bhogapuram Airport Nears Completion: 71% Done, June 2026 Target

Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu recently announced that 71% of the construction work on the Bhogapuram International Airport in Vizianagaram district has been completed. The government aims to fully complete the project by June 2026.

Minister Naidu visited the construction site on April 8, 2025, alongside officials from GMR, the project's developers. He highlighted key progress milestones, including 100% completion of earthworks, 97% of the runway, 92% of the taxiway, and 60% of the roofing.

The Minister credited the N. Chandrababu Naidu-led government for accelerating the project’s progress and reiterated the commitment to delivering the airport on schedule. "This will be a game-changer for the region, boosting connectivity, infrastructure, and economic development," he said.

Once completed, the airport is expected to significantly enhance air connectivity in the region, spur industrial growth, and create new opportunities for investment and tourism in North Andhra (Uttarandhra).
