India's first private trainer aircraft manufacturing facility will be established in Hisar, Haryana, by the end of 2025.
Tamil Nadu-based Sakthi Group, in partnership with Austria's Diamond Aircraft Industries, is setting up a final assembly line (FAL) for DA40 NG trainer planes.
Sakthi Aircraft Industry has signed an agreement with the Aero Club of India to supply 200 aircraft to flying schools. The first 50 planes will be imported as complete knocked-down (CKD) units, while the remaining 150 will be manufactured locally. Deliveries are expected to be completed by 2027.
The joint venture aims to produce 100 aircraft annually and increase the use of indigenous components to 60-70% within five years.
