GMR Airports Limited (GMR AERO) is executing a major transformation of Nagpur’s Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport. With the June 2026 site handover finalized, the company is moving to establish the airport as a core logistics and aviation hub for central India.
The roadmap prioritizes rapid efficiency gains, starting with a ₹300 crore investment in passenger and operational technology. The long-term vision scales capacity to 30–50 million passengers per annum and integrates a new Aerocity commercial zone. By focusing on sustainability and logistics infrastructure—specifically a 150,000 metric tonne cargo capacity—GMR aims to turn the facility into a primary engine for regional trade, tourism, and investment.
