Hubballi Airport's New Terminal Contract has eight bidders

Eight contractors bid for the civil construction of a new terminal building at Hubballi Airport (HBX) in Karnataka after Airports Authority of India (AAI) launched technical bids last week.

In December 2017, Hubballi or Hubli Airport inaugurated its 3,600-sq-m terminal. After extension, the airport will feature a 20,000-sq.m. terminal that can handle 2400 peak-hour passengers (1200 arrivals + 1200 departs).

The terminal will include 4 aerobridges and a larger apron for 6 narrow-body aircraft (A320, B737).

The Rs. 273 crore project was authorized by India's Central Government in June 2023. In October 2023, AAI solicited bids for the terminal's civil construction, which had a Rs. 260.22 crore estimate and a 730-day deadline

Bidder: Comt Constructions Pvt. Ltd.
Girdhari Lal's Construction Ltd.
Harsh Constructions Ltd.

Renaatus Projects Ltd.

AAI's Brief: Hubballi Airport's New Domestic Terminal and Miscellaneous Works

Technical review, which might take months, has begun on the proposals. After that, the technically qualifying bidders' financial bids will be revealed to show the lowest bidder and likely contractor.

If the tendering goes well, I expect preliminary ground work to begin in Q1 2024 and complete construction in Q2.
