Noida Airport Takes Off: Expressway Links Ready by April

A 700-meter stretch connecting the Yamuna Expressway to the Noida airport and a 31-kilometer road linking the expressway to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Ballabhgarh are slated for completion by April 2024.

The NCR Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is progressing with plans to develop a detailed project report (DPR) for a 72-kilometer rapid rail network between Ghaziabad station and the airport. Additionally, UP Roadways will compile a report on bus services to nearby areas once commercial flights commence by year's end.

A recent stakeholder meeting on February 9, 2024, encompassed various modes of transportation, involving representatives from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), NCRTC, and UP Roadways. Noida International Airport (NIAL) is overseeing the airport project.

A 750-meter road branching off the expressway for VIP access to the airport is in the works, with land acquisition underway. NIAL is collaborating with UP Roadways to operate buses from the airport to Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, and other destinations like Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Meerut, and Saharanpur. A depot is planned in Sector-33, where an initial fleet of 80 buses is anticipated to operate. Soil testing is ongoing for the 72-kilometer corridor from Ghaziabad station to the Noida airport.

The Northern Central Railway is tasked with constructing a corridor to integrate the airport with the Delhi-Howrah and Delhi-Mumbai routes on both sides.
