Delhi Airport’s Terminal 1 (T1) will become fully operational from April 15, 2025, with all flights currently operating from Terminal 2 (T2) shifting to T1. This transition is part of Delhi International Airport’s (DIAL) modernization efforts to enhance efficiency and passenger experience.
Upgraded under the Phase 3A expansion project, T1 now features state-of-the-art technologies, including the Facial Recognition System (DIGIYATRA), 20 Automated Tray Retrieval Systems (ATRS) for faster security checks, an Individual Carrier System (ICS) for efficient baggage handling, and 108 Common Usage Self-Service (CUSS) kiosks for seamless check-in.
With this expansion, Delhi Airport will be the only airport in India capable of handling over 100 million passengers annually. Currently, Terminal 2 accommodates approximately 270-280 air traffic movements daily, serving over 46,000 passengers.
