FORVIA Doubles Down on India with Next-Gen Seating Facility

As part of its IGNITE strategy, FORVIA is expanding its presence in India with a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing plant—its 10th industrial facility in the country and its first dedicated to complete seat production. Set to begin operations in 2027, the plant will bolster FORVIA’s local-for-local manufacturing strategy, enabling end-to-end production of seating systems, including structures, mechanisms, foam, covers, and final assembly.

The new facility will also introduce FORVIA’s proprietary cover carving technology to enhance rear-seat comfort, maximize cabin space, and improve surface quality. Backed by an R&D team of over 2,400 local engineers, this milestone reinforces India’s role as a critical growth and innovation hub for FORVIA and solidifies its position as a trusted mobility technology partner for regional automotive manufacturers.
