JSW Group plans to secure approximately ₹1,487 crore through a long-term loan to establish a greenfield electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing facility in Maharashtra.
The facility, developed under the newly incorporated JSW Greentech, will be set up on a 100-acre site in the Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC) at Bidkin. This project is a key part of JSW Group’s broader strategy to invest in green mobility and position itself as a major player in India’s transition to sustainable transportation.
Designed for an annual production capacity of 10,000 electric buses and 5,000 electric trucks, the plant will also feature a supporting ecosystem for EV components. This initiative aligns with India’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and advancing green transportation.
JSW Group has previously outlined plans to establish large-scale EV and battery manufacturing facilities nationwide. This venture strengthens the group’s foothold in the fast-growing EV market while contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable future.
