The Government of Telangana is preparing a comprehensive plan to roll out a large network of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across the state through a public-private partnership (PPP) model, in anticipation of rising EV adoption.
The initiative aims to address growing demand as electric vehicle usage continues to expand. During a review meeting on EV infrastructure, Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao directed officials to develop a detailed strategy to ensure widespread availability of charging stations across both urban and rural areas.
He stressed that a robust and extensive charging network will be critical to support users and sustain growth in the EV ecosystem. Rao also instructed officials to create a centralised, real-time dashboard to map and monitor charging infrastructure across Telangana, enabling more efficient planning and resource management.
