₹1,200 Crore Boost: Suzuki's New Plant Drives Haryana's Economy

Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL) has officially laid the foundation stone for its second manufacturing facility in India, located at IMT Kharkhoda in Haryana. The event was attended by senior leaders from Suzuki Motor Corporation, including Managing Director Kenichi Umeda, along with representatives from both the Indian and Japanese governments.

Situated within an industrial township developed by HSIIDC, the new plant supports the Indian government’s vision to strengthen industrial infrastructure, attract global investment, and drive job creation.

The facility will be established with an initial investment of approximately ₹1,200 crore and will have a projected production capacity of 7.5 lakh units annually in its first phase. Spread across 100 acres, the site will dedicate 25 acres to manufacturing operations and preserve another 25 acres as green space, reinforcing Suzuki’s commitment to sustainability.

The plant is expected to commence operations in 2027 and generate employment for around 2,000 people, contributing to local economic development and enhancing SMIPL’s manufacturing capabilities in India.

This initiative is a significant milestone in Suzuki’s long-term strategy to meet rising domestic demand while promoting environmental stewardship and community growth.
