Sanand’s New Glow: Motherson Inaugurates Advanced Lighting Hub

Motherson Group has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Sanand, Gujarat, dedicated to producing advanced exterior lighting systems for passenger vehicles. The plant has been established under its joint venture with Marelli, further strengthening the group’s footprint in high-value automotive components.

Spanning 8,200 square metres, the facility is the first in India equipped to manufacture edge-to-edge, single-piece long lighting components. This capability is supported by high-tonnage, multi-colour moulding machines ranging from 2,000T to 2,700T, enabling precision engineering and complex design integration.

The plant will produce seamless Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) and Rear Combination Lamps (RCLs), which are increasingly adopted as distinctive signature styling elements in modern passenger vehicles, enhancing both aesthetics and safety performance.
