The Future is Electric: DPIIT & Ather Energize "Build in Bharat"

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has signed an MoU with Ather Energy to strengthen India’s clean mobility and advanced manufacturing ecosystem.

This collaboration is part of the Startup Policy Forum’s ‘Build in Bharat’ initiative, which supports over 50 innovation-led startups. The MoU focuses on accelerating electric mobility by providing strategic mentorship to deep-tech startups, developing EV infrastructure, launching joint innovation challenges like the Bharat Startup Grand Challenge, and conducting talent development and industry exposure programs.

DPIIT and Ather will also co-host events such as Startup Mahakumbh to boost visibility and foster collaboration. Signed in the presence of Shri Sanjiv Singh (Joint Secretary, DPIIT) and Tarun Mehta (Co-founder & CEO, Ather Energy), the partnership marks a key step in advancing sustainable transportation and supporting innovation in EV manufacturing, battery tech, and clean energy solutions.
