"India's Nitric Acid Giant: thyssenkrupp Uhde Powers GNFC's Expansion"

thyssenkrupp Uhde has secured a contract from Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals (GNFC) to build the Weak Nitric Acid (WNA-III) Plant in Bharuch, Gujarat.

The project encompasses licensing, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up services. With a capacity of 600 tpd, it will be among India's largest nitric acid plants. Featuring Uhde’s EnviNOx technology, the plant is designed to minimize greenhouse gas emissions by eliminating nitrogen oxides. The WNA-I and WNA-II plants were also developed using thyssenkrupp Uhde’s technology.

thyssenkrupp Uhde’s Indian subsidiary will manage project execution. A leading EPC and engineering consultancy, the company delivers solutions across petrochemicals, refineries, fertilizers, and cryogenic storage. Over four decades, it has successfully executed more than 850 projects.
