Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) marked a significant milestone in India’s clean energy transition as Sanjay Khanna, Director (Refineries) and Additional Chairman & Managing Director, flagged off the first tanker lorry carrying BPCL’s first-generation bio-ethanol.
Dispatched from the Bargarh Bio Refinery to the IOTL Raipur depot under the Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) programme, the milestone underscores BPCL’s commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat by strengthening indigenous biofuel production. During his visit, Mr. Khanna reviewed the refinery’s facilities and commended the project and operations teams for their seamless coordination and timely execution that made this achievement possible.
This initiative reflects BPCL’s continued focus on innovation, sustainability, and energy security, while contributing to long-term economic growth and advancing the national vision of a Viksit Bharat. It further reinforces BPCL’s leadership in accelerating the adoption of renewable fuels in India.
