Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has announced the formation of a joint venture with Hindustan Waste Treatment (HWT) to develop compressed biogas (CBG) plants and explore other biofuel opportunities. The partnership will operate as an equal joint venture, with IGL and HWT each holding a 50 percent equity stake.
According to an exchange filing, the joint venture will initially be governed by a four-member board, comprising two directors from each partner. The collaboration is aimed at strengthening IGL’s presence in the renewable energy segment and advancing its clean fuel initiatives, in line with its long-term strategy to diversify its energy portfolio.
IGL stated that the partnership will enable the company to play a significant role in the renewable energy space while contributing to India’s sustainable development goals through the promotion of environmentally friendly energy solutions.
