Powering the Future: GAIL, Gujarat Gas, and Baba Deep Singh Join Forces for CBG

A tripartite agreement ceremony was recently held at GAIL’s Chandigarh office, signifying a strategic partnership between Baba Deep Singh Green Power, Gujarat Gas, and GAIL under the Compressed Biogas-City Gas Distribution (CBG-CGD) Synchronisation Scheme.

Under this agreement, Baba Deep Singh Green Power will supply compressed biogas (CBG) to Gujarat Gas, with GAIL managing its transmission to ensure a streamlined and reliable supply chain. The CBG production facility will be established in Village Qadian, located in the Gurdaspur district of Punjab. The plant is designed to produce 34,000 cubic meters of raw biogas per day, which will yield approximately 13,600 kilograms of CBG daily.

The project’s engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) responsibilities have been awarded to CEID Consultants and Engineering, which is currently overseeing the plant’s design, procurement, and infrastructure development. All work is being carried out in compliance with environmental and safety standards, with an emphasis on incorporating advanced technologies for optimal efficiency and performance.

The ceremony was attended by Kanwar Pratap Singh Bajwa, Director of Baba Deep Singh Green Power, who represented the project’s ownership. Abhinav Govil, representing EPC partner CEID Consultants and Engineering, stated, “We hope this plant will serve as a benchmark for CBG production and showcase how engineering excellence can drive India's green energy transition.”
