The Indian Biogas Association (IBA) announced that the biogas sector garnered investment commitments exceeding Rs 200 crore at RenewX 2025, a leading renewable energy exhibition held from April 23 to 25 at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam. Organised by Informa Markets, the three-day event fostered industry collaboration and highlighted opportunities in clean energy.
Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed during the expo, driving partnerships and investment in biogas and broader bioenergy solutions. RenewX 2025 served as a key platform, uniting stakeholders from solar, wind, energy storage, and energy management sectors, with a special focus on innovations and policy in bioenergy.
"RenewX 2025 showcased a unique blend of technology, grassroots innovation, and policy alignment," said IBA President A R Shukla. "It is clear that bioenergy can play a pivotal role in reshaping India's energy future, especially when supported by the right regulatory and financial ecosystem."
Established in 2011 and revitalised in 2015, the Indian Biogas Association has been a consistent advocate for sustainable waste-to-energy solutions. Through partnerships with international bodies such as the German Biogas Association, the IBA continues to promote advanced biogas technologies across India.
The new investment commitments are expected to significantly boost biogas development in Southern India, advancing the nation’s broader goal of a sustainable and self-reliant energy future.
