Jagatjit Industries has commenced commercial production at its new grain-based ethanol plant in Hamira, Kapurthala district, Punjab.
With a daily production capacity of 200 kilolitres, the facility is expected to generate annual revenue of ₹550 crore once fully operational. The plant is projected to supply 65–70 million litres of ethanol per year to Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), contributing to India’s biofuel targets. In its partial first year, the plant is anticipated to add ₹300 crore in revenue.
“This plant brings stable, high-quality revenue that strengthens our balance sheet and funds our next phase of growth across premium spirits and new markets,” said Roshini Sanah Jaiswal, Promoter & Executive Director of Jagatjit Industries.
Founded in 1944, the company is a leading manufacturer of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and Country Liquor (CL), with facilities in Punjab and Behror, Rajasthan. The ethanol plant forms a key part of Jagatjit’s diversification strategy focused on sustainable energy and long-term growth.
