In a major industrial boost for Andhra Pradesh, JK Srivastava & Hynfra (JKSH) has announced a ₹35,000 crore investment to establish a green hydrogen (150 KTPA) and green ammonia (600 KTPA) facility in Machilipatnam, Krishna district.
The project, set to become operational by 2029, will be powered entirely by renewable energy sources, including solar and wind, integrated with battery storage and advanced energy management systems. It is expected to create around 10,000 jobs, contributing significantly to the region’s economic development.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between JKSH and the New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Initially proposed for Visakhapatnam, the project was relocated to Krishna district due to the availability of over 1.86 lakh acres of government land, including 1.24 lakh acres within the Machilipatnam division.
The project's location gains further strategic importance with the Machilipatnam port development—currently 50% complete and expected to be operational by end-2026. This investment follows earlier proposals by BPCL and CONCOR, further positioning Krishna district as a key industrial and logistics hub under the TDP-led NDA government.
