Carbon Giant: Himadri’s Hooghly Facility Goes Global.

Himadri Speciality Chemical has commenced commercial operations of its newly commissioned 70,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) Speciality Carbon Black line at its manufacturing facility in Hooghly, marking a major capacity expansion.

The new line, introduced as part of a brownfield expansion at the Hooghly plant, increases the company’s total Carbon Black production capacity to 2.50 lakh TPA. Of this, Speciality Carbon Black now accounts for 1.30 lakh TPA, reinforcing Himadri’s presence in the high-value carbon materials segment.

With the enhanced capacity, the Hooghly unit has become the world’s largest single-location Speciality Carbon Black manufacturing facility. The development is expected to strengthen the company’s leadership in the global speciality carbon black market and help meet rising demand from domestic as well as international customers.
