Karnataka's dairy landscape is set for a significant transformation with the 95 crore investment in the modernization and expansion of Hassan Milk Union's operations in Katihalli, Hassan. This substantial project focuses on key features such as the implementation of an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS) for streamlined storage and retrieval of 60 lakh liters of UHT and PET bottle milk. Additionally, a new cold storage facility is introduced to ensure optimal temperature conditions, extending the shelf life of milk products. The overall infrastructure upgrade aims to modernize equipment and processes, enhancing efficiency and maintaining high standards of hygiene.
Currently under construction with an expected completion date in 2024, the project's impact and potential are far-reaching. The enhanced milk processing and storage capacity significantly increase the Union's ability to handle and store milk, benefiting both farmers and consumers alike. The introduction of AS/RS technology not only optimizes operations but also leads to cost savings and improved profitability. The upgraded infrastructure ensures milk quality and safety throughout the supply chain, reinforcing product standards.
