The Bakhtiyarpur–Tajpur Ganga Bridge, a major infrastructure project in Bihar with an estimated cost of ₹1,822 crore, is progressing steadily and is expected to be completed by May 2026. Around 65 percent of the construction work has already been completed.
Once operational, the bridge will connect National Highway 31 near Bakhtiyarpur on the southern bank of the Ganga with National Highway 28 in Samastipur district on the northern bank. The new crossing will serve as a crucial alternative route, significantly improving connectivity between South and North Bihar and supporting regional economic development.
Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit recently reviewed the project’s progress and directed officials to address any pending issues, including delays related to associated road overbridges. Authorities have indicated that the project remains on schedule, with efforts underway to resolve construction bottlenecks promptly.
