Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) would spend 170 crore rupees to develop its storage facility in Siliguri, Jalpaiguri district. This enormous project intends to increase fuel storage capacity and regional fuel supply efficiency. The Siliguri project will increase storage capacity and fuel supply dynamics, making it crucial. This effort repurposes tankages, builds Transmix, Biodiesel, and Ethanol tanks, and upgrades infrastructure.
The anticipated 1200 KL storage capacity for Transmix, Biodiesel, and Ethanol is a major focus of this project. This increase meets the region's rising fuel demand, assuring a more stable supply. The project would strengthen storage and simplify distribution and delivery to improve fuel supply efficiency. It is also projected to provide jobs during construction, boosting the local economy.
IOCL will use sustainable methods and energy-efficient technology to reduce the project's environmental impact. Environmental clearance has been granted for the pre-feasibility stage. IOCL is finishing the complete project study, preparing for construction. IOCL's Siliguri storage terminal expansion shows its commitment to strengthening its operational presence, improving petroleum supply dependability, and boosting West Bengal's economy. The project's capacity and strategic considerations might boost IOCL's efficiency and the region's economy.
As on January, 2024. The project has begun the stage of receiving approvals. Clearances were obtained for the project. Work on the project is scheduled to begin in February of 2024.
