Big Win for HCC: The ₹2,917 Crore CIDCO Water Mandate

Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) has secured a major water infrastructure contract worth approximately ₹2,917 crore from the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), in a joint venture with LCESPL.

The project involves the construction of a 22.21 km raw water tunnel and a 250 MLD water treatment plant in Raigad district. The tunnel will be developed using advanced tunnel boring machine (TBM) technology to transport water from Kondhane Dam to the proposed treatment facility at Mohope. The scope includes comprehensive execution—design, engineering, construction, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the plant.

In addition, the contract includes 15 years of operation and maintenance under a design, build, and operate (DBO) model. The project is a key part of CIDCO’s long-term plan to strengthen water supply infrastructure for Navi Mumbai and surrounding growth corridors. HCC’s share in the total contract value is approximately ₹1,100 crore.
