SDHI Wins ₹750 Crore Danish Export Contract for Advanced Tugs

In a significant milestone for India's shipbuilding sector, Swan Defence and Heavy Industries Ltd. (SDHI) has secured its fourth consecutive international order—a ₹750 crore contract from Denmark-based Svitzer A/S. SDHI will build four sophisticated TRAnsverse 3200 harbour tugs at its Pipavav facility in Gujarat, with production slated for delivery in early 2028. Selected following a rigorous global evaluation, the Bureau Veritas-classed vessels utilize an innovative Robert Allan Ltd. design to deliver superior manoeuvrability, an 80-tonne bollard pull, and enhanced environmental compliance, including up to 15% greater fuel efficiency and biofuel readiness.
