Quality Care India Ltd (QCIL) has signed agreements with Ampin Energy and Radiance Renewables to procure solar power for five of its facilities under a group captive solar initiative, marking a key step in its transition to sustainable energy.
The first phase of the rollout will cover hospitals in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra, laying the foundation for a broader shift toward renewable power across its network.
QCIL plans to extend the transition to 19 hospitals operating under its Care Hospitals and KIMS Health networks through a phased approach. Phase II will include facilities in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, followed by Kerala in Phase III, and Madhya Pradesh and Telangana in Phase IV.
The company said the phased implementation is designed to ensure uninterrupted operations while scaling renewable energy adoption across its energy-intensive healthcare facilities. Hospitals require a consistent and reliable power supply due to their round-the-clock, high-dependency environments, making the transition both a strategic and operational priority.
QCIL also noted that rising energy costs—an important component of hospital operating expenses—are driving the shift. By adopting renewable energy, the company aims to optimise costs, strengthen energy security, and advance its environmental sustainability goals.
