Steel Exchange India Ltd. (SEIL) has secured a contract from Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd. (RINL) for the conversion of billets into TMT rebars under the Vizag Steel brand.
Under the agreement, SEIL will convert 1.20 lakh tonnes of billets annually into TMT bars of various sizes. The contract is valid for two years, with an option to extend it by one additional year upon mutual agreement. The total contract value is estimated at up to ₹210 crore.
SEIL will manage the entire conversion process, supporting the increased availability of high-quality steel products in the domestic market. The partnership highlights SEIL’s expanding role in India’s steel value chain, particularly in providing value-added processing services.
By leveraging its advanced manufacturing capabilities, SEIL will adhere to RINL’s stringent quality standards for TMT rebars, which are widely used in construction and infrastructure development. This collaboration contributes to India’s broader infrastructure growth agenda and strengthens domestic production capacity.
