BHEL clinches big win with Adani Power contract!

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has secured a significant contract from Adani Power (APL) to set up a 2x800 MW thermal power plant in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The project, valued at over Rs 3,500 crore, was signed on June 5, 2024. It includes the supply of essential equipment such as boilers, turbines, generators, and associated auxiliaries, along with control and instrumentation systems. BHEL will also oversee the erection and commissioning of the power project, which is based on supercritical technology.

The boilers for the project will be manufactured at BHEL's Trichy plant, while the turbine generators will be produced at the Haridwar facility. This division of production responsibilities highlights BHEL's extensive manufacturing capabilities across different locations. The timeline for the supply and commissioning is set at 35 months for Unit-1 and 41 months for Unit-2, reflecting a phased approach to the project's completion.

This contract further solidifies BHEL's position in the power sector and demonstrates its ability to deliver large-scale projects. The collaboration with Adani Power signifies a robust partnership aimed at enhancing the power infrastructure in Chhattisgarh. With this project, BHEL continues to play a crucial role in meeting India's growing energy demands through advanced technological solutions.
