Salasar’s ₹68.67 Crore Power Play in Puducherry

Salasar Techno Engineering is set to develop a state-of-the-art Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) substation in Puducherry at an investment of ₹68.67 crore. The project was awarded to the company in December 2025 and will be located at Lawspet.

The substation will be executed under the consultancy services of Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) for the Puducherry Electricity Department. Designed with a 110/22 kV capacity, the project scope includes end-to-end activities such as design, engineering, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning. Once commissioned, the GIS substation is expected to significantly enhance power distribution efficiency and strengthen grid resilience, supporting existing demand as well as future load growth driven by urbanisation.

Commenting on the development, Shashank Agarwal, Managing Director of Salasar Techno Engineering, said the project reflects the company’s commitment to delivering reliable and transformative assets for India’s evolving energy infrastructure.
