Seven entities have qualified for the opening of price bids under Maharashtra’s Intrastate Transmission System (InSTS) scheme, being implemented through Velgaon Power Transmission.
The project is being developed under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) framework, with REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd. (RECPDCL) acting as the bid process coordinator.
The qualified bidders include:
Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL), Adani Energy Solutions (AESL), Resonia (formerly Sterlite Grid 32), Tata Power Company, KCC Buildcon, Ceigall India, Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company (MSETCL)
KCC Buildcon, which has previously participated in ISTS-TBCB bids such as Raghanesda RE Transmission and Banaskantha Transco, is yet to secure a win. For PGCIL, a successful bid would mark its first foray into Maharashtra’s intrastate transmission space, following previous InSTS-TBCB projects in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
