All Civil Contracts Awarded for Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project has reached a significant milestone with the awarding of all civil contracts across both Gujarat and Maharashtra. Managed by the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), this achievement marks the completion of the project's foundational phase, covering a variety of critical structures including tunnels, bridges, and station infrastructure.

The project is well underway with substantial progress in both states. Key achievements include the erection of the first reinforced concrete track bed using the Japanese Shinkansen technology, a milestone in India's rail construction history. Additionally, construction work has commenced on India's first 7 km undersea rail tunnel and multiple high-speed rail stations across Gujarat.

The high-speed rail corridor, spanning 508 km, aims to connect Mumbai and Ahmedabad, significantly reducing travel time. The first phase, between Surat and Bilimora, is targeted for completion by 2026. The project, funded by a significant loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), demonstrates a robust international collaboration aimed at enhancing India's transportation infrastructure.

This milestone underscores NHSRCL's commitment to advancing high-speed rail technology in India, laying a solid foundation for future expansions and setting the stage for a transformative shift in the country's rail travel dynamics.
