Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) has announced that its joint venture with VCCL has secured a ₹577.89 crore contract from Northeast Frontier Railway. HCC holds a 65% stake in the HCC–VCCL consortium.
The contract entails the completion of four tunnels on the Dimapur–Kohima new broad gauge railway line, including Tunnel No. 9 (600 m), Tunnel No. 11 (350 m), Tunnel No. 13 (400 m), and Tunnel No. 16 (600 m). The scope of work also covers cut-and-cover stretches, earthworks for embankments and cuttings to establish the railway formation, along with ancillary and slope protection works between Piphema and Zubza.
The Dimapur–Kohima rail link forms a significant part of Indian Railways’ efforts to strengthen connectivity in the Northeast, enhancing access to remote and hilly regions of Nagaland and adjoining areas.
The order win follows HCC’s improved financial performance, with the company reporting a consolidated net profit of ₹8.07 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2025, compared with a net loss of ₹38.92 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
