Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has secured a significant contract from the South Eastern Railway valued at Rs 191.53 crore. This contract involves the upgrade of the electric traction system from a 1 x 25 kV to a 2 x 25 kV system in the Kharagpur-Bhadrak section, which is part of the Kharagpur division. The project aims to enhance the efficiency and capacity of the railway network, particularly to support a loading target of 3000 MT.
RVNL emerged as the lowest bidder for this project, and the work includes design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the upgraded traction system. The contract stipulates a completion period of 18 months, emphasizing the strategic importance of timely execution to meet operational demands and improve service delivery within the region.
