Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has secured a significant contract worth ₹133 crore from Central Railway, marking it as the Lowest Bidder (L1). The project involves upgrading the existing 1 x 25 kV Electric Traction System to a 2 x 25 kV AT Feeding System in the Wardha-Ballarshah Section of the Nagpur division. This upgrade aims to meet a 3000 MT loading target.
In its exchange filing, RVNL confirmed its status as the Lowest Bidder for this crucial project. The upgrade to the 2 x 25 kV AT Feeding System is vital for enhancing the railway's capacity and efficiency in handling increased loads.
The contract, valued precisely at ₹132,59,20,130.37 crore, has a projected completion timeline of 24 months. This project is part of RVNL's broader commitment to improving India's rail infrastructure.
Headquartered in New Delhi, RVNL was established in 2003 and has since been a key player in the construction of rail infrastructure projects nationwide. Its portfolio includes new lines, doubling, gauge conversion, electrification, workshops, metro projects, bridges, and institutional buildings.
