Shielding the Tracks: HBL Secures ₹800Cr Kavach Order

Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) has issued a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) to HBL Engineering for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of On-board KAVACH equipment (Version 4.0), valued at ₹800.36 crore.

The contract is aimed at strengthening railway safety through the deployment of advanced indigenous train protection technology across locomotives of Indian Railways. The project is scheduled to be completed within 12 months.

The On-board KAVACH system is designed to prevent train collisions and enhance operational safety, representing a major step forward in the modernisation of Indian Railways. The LoA underscores the continued commitment to upgrading railway infrastructure to ensure a safer and more efficient transportation network.
