Siemens-RVNL Secures Bangalore Metro Rail Electrification!

The Siemens-RVNL consortium has secured a significant contract from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation. The order encompasses the comprehensive engineering, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of essential components for Phase-2A and Phase-2B of the metro project. This includes the 33 kV distribution network, 750V DC third rail traction electrification, traction substations, auxiliary substations, and the SCADA system.

This project is valued at Rs 394.2 crore and is expected to be completed within a 32-month timeline. Siemens will hold a majority stake in the consortium, with a 70 percent share, while RVNL will own the remaining 30 percent. This strategic partnership aims to leverage the strengths of both companies to ensure the successful execution of the project.

The scope of work for the consortium is extensive, covering critical infrastructure necessary for the metro's operation. The 33 kV distribution and 750V DC third rail systems are pivotal for providing reliable and efficient power to the metro trains. Additionally, the traction and auxiliary substations, along with the SCADA system, will ensure seamless operation and monitoring of the metro network.
