REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL), a subsidiary of REC, has handed over two Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) to Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL). These SPVs, named Rajasthan IV-C Power Transmission and Rajasthan IV-E Power Transmission, are key to evacuating power from the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone Phase IV, located in the Jaisalmer/Barmer complex.
The Rajasthan IV-C project includes the construction of a 765/400 kV pooling station at Mandsaur, along with 171.75 km of 765 kV transmission lines. The Rajasthan IV-E project involves developing a 765 kV substation near Rishabdeo and 339.24 km of transmission lines.
These projects were awarded to PGCIL through a tariff-based competitive bidding process, with RECPDCL acting as the bid process coordinator. The transmission projects will be executed on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis, with a completion target of two years.
This handover marks a significant step in bolstering power infrastructure for renewable energy evacuation in Rajasthan.
