Omar Abdullah Unveils ₹140-Cr Water & Urban Projects in J&K

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah spearheaded a major push toward robust urban infrastructure and disaster recovery during a packed schedule of inaugurations and field reviews.

Committing over ₹140 crore to civic enhancements, Abdullah launched vital water and sanitation initiatives—including the AMRUT 2.0 water augmentation project in Udhampur and an SBM 2.0 sewage treatment plant in Reasi—while urging citizens to champion water conservation. In Jammu, he officially opened the upgraded Residency Road-High Street corridor to ease traffic congestion and improve pedestrian infrastructure.

Later, shifting focus to regional connectivity, the Chief Minister conducted an on-ground review of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. Emphasizing its critical role as the region's lifeline, he directed executing agencies to accelerate landslide restoration works and prioritize the seamless transit of fruit and agricultural carriers.
