Coca-Cola India has unveiled its strategy to enter the ready-to-drink tea beverages market by introducing the 'Honest Tea' brand, which falls under the ownership of Honest, a subsidiary of the Coca-Cola Company.
To craft this product, the organic green tea will be procured from the Makaibari Tea Estate, operated by Kolkata-based Luxmi Tea Company. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) sealing this collaboration was inked between the two entities during the seventh edition of the Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) in Kolkata.
The forthcoming offering will present iced green tea in 'lemon-tulsi' and 'mango' variations, intending to enrich consumer choices with a distinctive experience centered around a green tea-based beverage.
In its acquisition journey, the Coca-Cola Company initially acquired a 40 percent stake in Honest Tea back in 2008, subsequently completing the full acquisition in 2011.
