The Karnataka government has approved Reliance Group’s ₹1,622 crore Campa Cola bottling plant in Vijayapura district, Industries Minister M.B. Patil announced.
The project will be established on 100 acres in Mulawada Industrial Area Phase-2 and is expected to create 1,200 direct jobs, giving a major boost to the region’s industrial development.
At a recent review meeting, Minister Patil highlighted that investment proposals worth ₹17,000 crore have been received for Vijayapura—his home district. Key upcoming projects include:
Wings Vitera: ₹350 crore investment in food grain processing, Suzlon: ₹360 crore for wind turbine blade manufacturing
Poddar Group: Proposed CVC/PVC pipe manufacturing unit
The renewable energy sector is driving a large share of the investment, with:
ReNew Power committing ₹4,700 crore, Arsolec ₹4,000 crore, Hecla Climate ₹8,000 crore
The district has also seen growing interest from 30 FMCG firms, 25 solar companies, 15 textile units, and over 20 ventures in ethanol, chocolate, and cold beverage manufacturing.
In addition to Reliance’s project, three other proposals were approved:
Zenfold Biosciences, Astral Coatings, Wipro Hydraulics
Officials from the Industries Department and Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) participated in the approvals meeting, marking a significant step forward in Vijayapura’s industrialisation.
