Shri Gajanan Maharaj Sugar to Expand Project in Ahmadnagar with ₹86 Crore

Shri Gajanan Maharaj Sugar Limited has announced the expansion of its sugar project in Kavthe Malkapur, Ahmadnagar. With an investment of ₹86 crores, the project aims to enhance the region's sugar production capacity, promising substantial economic growth.

The expansion will increase the sugar production capacity to 1200 TCD (tons of cane per day), a significant boost from its current output. This increase is expected to not only meet the rising demand for sugar but also to create numerous job opportunities for the local population, thereby contributing to the overall development of the region.

In addition to the expansion of sugar production, the project will also feature a 4 MW bagasse-based power unit. Bagasse, a by-product of sugarcane, will be used to generate electricity, showcasing the project's commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. This initiative is anticipated to improve the region's energy security while promoting green energy solutions.

The announcement has been met with enthusiasm by local farmers and stakeholders, who see this expansion as a positive step towards economic empowerment. The increased production capacity and the introduction of the power unit are expected to enhance the overall efficiency of the sugar mill, ensuring better returns for the farmers.

This expansion aligns with the government's vision of fostering industrial growth in rural areas. The project is poised to become a model for sustainable development in the agricultural sector, highlighting the potential for renewable energy solutions and rural industrialization in India.
