Tamil Nadu has signed major MoUs with homegrown food brands—Sri Krishna Sweets, Annapoorna, and Hatsun Agro Products—to strengthen its food-processing ecosystem and boost export potential.
At the TN Rising Conclave, the state showcased Coimbatore as a strategic hub for transforming regional food brands into global players. As part of the new investments, Sri Krishna Sweets will establish an export-focused sweets manufacturing unit with an investment of ₹100 crore, while Annapoorna plans to set up a ₹300-crore centralised kitchen facility. Hatsun Agro Products will invest ₹860 crore to expand its dairy production capacity. These initiatives align with the state’s vision to elevate local brands onto the international stage through strong policy backing and export support.
Minister TRB Rajaa highlighted Tamil Nadu’s capability to nurture brands that can emulate the global success of companies like MTR Foods and Haldiram’s. Additionally, E Star Foods and Podaran Foods have announced substantial investments in new manufacturing units, further strengthening the state’s food-production landscape.
