Accor's Ambitious Expansion, Pullman Lights Up Chennai

French hospitality giant Accor, which is launching 30 new projects, including the recently opened Hotel Pullman Chennai, Anna Salai, is expanding its presence into Tier-III cities. This marks Pullman’s debut in South India.

The hotel, spanning 5,000 sq. m., features 232 rooms and 1,700 sq. m. of event space. Dining options include Mercato, a fine dining restaurant; Mercato Bar, which offers curated wines; and Up North, a rooftop restaurant serving North Indian cuisine with stunning city views. The property owner, Ceebros, invested approximately Rs 100 crore in refurbishments and upgrades.

Accor currently operates eight brands in India, while Pullman boasts over 450 hotels in Asia and more than 5,000 worldwide, having added 44 hotels in Asia last year.

Ceebros CEO C Velan highlighted the hotel's sustainability efforts, saying, “Pullman Chennai is fully powered by renewable energy from Ceebros’ wind farm and rooftop solar panels, improving energy efficiency by 20 percent. The property conserves 55 percent of water and retains almost all of its original structure, earning LEED certification.”

Ceebros is also exploring further hotel and resort development opportunities in Chennai and its surrounding areas.
