The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality group, has inaugurated its 73rd Skilling Centre at Kumaon University, Nainital, in collaboration with Tata STRIVE, Setu Aayog, and the Government of Uttarakhand.
Inaugurated by Shri Rajshekhar Joshi, Vice Chairman of Setu Aayog, the initiative is part of IHCL’s ESG+ framework, Paathya, which aims to skill 1,00,000 youth by 2030. The partnership brings together multiple stakeholders — the Government of Uttarakhand and Kumaon University provide infrastructure and funding support, Tata STRIVE serves as the implementation partner, Setu Aayog coordinates the program, and IHCL contributes industry expertise.
Focusing on local employment generation, the centre reinforces IHCL’s commitment to inclusive growth and sustainable talent development across 21 states and 32 aspirational districts.
Gaurav Pokhariyal, Executive Vice President – Human Resources, IHCL, said:
“At IHCL, we believe that true hospitality begins with empowering communities. The 73rd skilling centre in Nainital marks a milestone in our mission to uplift youth across India under Paathya, one of the largest hospitality skilling programs in the country.”
