Minor Hotels' Ambitious India Expansion Begins with Avani

Minor Hotels has announced the debut of its Avani Hotels & Resorts brand in India with the upcoming launch of Avani+ Sunray Beach Visakhapatnam Resort, a premium beachfront development in the scenic coastal city of Visakhapatnam.

Set across 25.5 acres in Bhogapuram, the project will feature a 117-key resort and 58 branded residential villas, designed to elevate luxury hospitality and lifestyle living in the region. The resort enjoys a strategic location near the under-construction Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport, expected to enhance regional connectivity upon its opening in 2026. The resort is slated for completion by 2028.

Guests can look forward to a range of high-end amenities, including three distinct dining venues—an all-day restaurant, a specialty dining experience, and a stylish bar. The resort will also offer a spacious banqueting hall, AvaniSpa, a large swimming pool, beach bar, and the signature AvaniFit gym. A highlight of the development will be its nine-hole par-three golf course, catering to both beginners and seasoned players.

This venture marks a milestone in Minor Hotels’ ambitious expansion strategy in India, where it plans to launch 50 properties over the next decade. The entry of the Avani brand reflects the group’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for modern, experience-driven hospitality in India.
