Sarovar Hotels has announced the opening of Sarovar Portico Sriperumbudur, a contemporary mid-scale business hotel strategically located along the Chennai–Bangalore Highway, catering to the growing demand from corporate and industrial travellers in the region.
This is the group’s third owned property, following Hometel Chandigarh and Hometel Roorkee, and adds to its expansive portfolio of over 140 operational hotels across 85 destinations in India, Nepal, and Africa under the Sarovar Premiere, Sarovar Portico, Hometel, and Golden Tulip brands.
The hotel features 7,245 sq. ft. of event space, including Summit, a 4,770 sq. ft. pillarless banquet hall—the largest in the region—making it an ideal venue for business events and conferences. On the sustainability front, the property incorporates solar roofing, rainwater harvesting, an in-house sewage treatment plant, and a bottling plant, aligning with the group’s eco-conscious philosophy. Dining offerings include SPR Kitchen and Chola Lounge, providing regional and international cuisine.
Ajay K Bakaya, Chairman of Sarovar Hotels and Director at Louvre Hotels India, highlighted Sriperumbudur’s rise as a major manufacturing hub, hosting global players like Foxconn, Samsung, Hyundai, and Renault. “This hotel is designed to meet the evolving needs of modern business travellers while championing sustainable hospitality. Sriperumbudur’s fast-paced industrial growth and significant foreign business presence make it a strategic location for our expansion,” he said.
