On August 25, 2025, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched a series of urban development projects worth ₹1,056 crore in central Patna, delivering on commitments made during his ‘Pragati Yatra’.
At Patel Golambar, the CM laid the foundation for a ₹196 crore four-lane road with an integrated underground drainage system along the Serpentine Canal, aimed at easing access to the Secretariat, Rajdhani Vatika, and the airport while improving the city’s visual appeal.
In Dak Bungalow Chowk, he inaugurated a ₹328 crore project to underground power lines, a major step toward modernizing Patna’s aging electrical infrastructure. Additionally, ₹30 crore has been allocated for hostel renovations across colleges and universities in the capital.
Other key launches included:
₹48 crore Patna Haat near Gandhi Maidan, promoting local artisans and culture, ₹52 crore link road connecting Mandiri Nala to J P Ganga Path, ₹387 crore J P Ganga Path Samagra Udyan Project (Phase 1) — a 7-km green corridor between Digha and Gandhi Maidan, ₹12 crore promenade from Sabhyata Dwar to Collectorate Ghat, enhancing riverfront accessibility
The Chief Minister emphasized the J P Ganga Path’s transformative role in boosting tourism, connectivity, and socio-economic development for Patna’s residents, positioning it as a model for sustainable urban growth.
